Welcome
Call to Worship
Bless the Lord, all His works,In all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Psalm 103:22
Hymn # 76 Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven
1 Praise, my soul, the King of heaven, to his feet your tribute bring; ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, who, like me, his praise should sing?Praise him, praise him, praise him, praise him, praise the everlasting King.
2 Praise him for his grace and favor to our fathers in distress; praise him, still the same forever, slow to chide and swift to bless; praise him, praise him, praise him, praise him, glorious in his faithfulness.
3 Father-like, he tends and spares us; well our feeble frame he knows; in his hands he gently bears us, rescues us from all our foes; praise him, praise him, praise him, praise him, widely as his mercy goes.
4 Frail as summer's flow'r we flourish, blows the wind and it is gone; but while mortals rise and perish,God endures unchanging on.Praise him, praise him, praise him, praise him, praise the High Eternal One.
5 Angels, help us to adore him; you behold him face to face; sun and moon, bow down before him, dwellers all in time and space, praise him, praise him, praise him, praise him, praise with us the God of grace.
Call To Confession
Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For,
“Whoever would love life and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
1 Peter 3:8–12 citing Psalm 34:12-16 (NIV):
Confession of Sins
Let us pray to the Lord confessing our sin, saying together:
Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.
Be pleased to save me, Lord;
come quickly, Lord, to help me.
Psalm 40:11–13 (NIV)
Word of Comfort
As we are weary and burdened by our sin and our troubles, our Lord Jesus says to us:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV)
Song of Renewal
Jesus! I do now receive him,more than all in him I find;he hath granted me forgiveness,I am his, and he is mine.
Hallelujah! what a Savior!Hallelujah, what a Friend!Saving, helping, keeping, loving,he is with me to the end.
Trinity Hymnal # 498, stanza 5
Baptism
Scripture Lesson: Philippians 2:12-18
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. 18 For the same reason you also be glad and rejoice with me.

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
