Click here to listen to entire service Welcome Call to Worship Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:16–17 (NKJV) Hymn # 102 All Glory be to Thee, Most High
1 All glory be to thee, Most High, to thee all adoration; in grace and truth thou drawest nigh to offer us salvation; thou showest thy good will to men, and peace shall reign on earth again; we praise thy name forever.
2 We praise, we worship thee, we trust, and give thee thanks forever, O Father, for thy rule is just and wise, and changes never; thy hand almighty o'er us reigns, thou doest what thy will ordains; 'tis well for us thou rulest. 3 O Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, Son of the heav'nly Father, O thou who hast our peace restored, the straying sheep dost gather, thou Lamb of God, to thee on high out of the depths we sinners cry: have mercy on us, Jesus!
4 O Holy Spirit, precious gift, thou Comforter unfailing, from Satan's snares our souls uplift, and let thy pow'r, availing, avert our woes and calm our dread. For us the Savior's blood was shed; we trust in thee to save us. Call To Confession And God spoke all these words, saying: 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 You shall have no other gods before Me. 4 You shall not make for yourself a carved image...5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. 7 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. 8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 12 Honor your father and your mother. 13 You shall not murder. 14 You shall not commit adultery. 15 You shall not steal. 16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 17 You shall not desire...anything that is your neighbor’s. I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found. Psalm 32:5–6 (NKJV)
Confession of Sins Let us, therefore, confess our sin, saying together: “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me... Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities” through Jesus your Son. Amen.
Word of Assurance For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. Psalm 103:11–13 (NKJV): Song of Renewal Gracious God my heart renew, Make my spirit right and true; Cast me not away from thee, Let thy Spirit dwell in me; Thy salvation's joy impart. Steadfast make my willing heart. #486, stanza 5 (Ps 51:10-11) Scripture Lessons: Isaiah 64:8–9 (NKJV): 8 But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. 9 Do not be furious, O Lord, Nor remember iniquity forever; Indeed, please look—we all are Your people! Ephesians 4:4–6 (NKJV): 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Matthew 6:7–13 (NKJV): 7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Sermon Hymn # 106 Father, Father of all Things
1 Father, Father of all things, we bless you. Father, we love and adore you. O Father, your children praise you. Father, Father of light and power, Father, your greatness surrounds the earth and all of your children declare you are Lord. 2 Jesus, only Son of the living God, Jesus, you willingly suffered that thro’ you we might know His love. Jesus, cleanse us, your people, and fill us. Pour down your Spirit upon us that we as your body may show forth your love. 3 Spirit, sent by the Son to dwell in us, living and working within us to make us more like Jesus; Spirit, fall down upon us as fire, fill and equip us with power, and draw from us love and praise to the Lord.
Prayer of the Church and the Lord’s Prayer
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Hymn # In Christ Alone (1-2)
1 In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, Here in the love of Christ I stand.
2 In Christ alone! - who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied - For every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live.
The Lord's Supper
Hymn # In Christ Alone (3-4)
3 There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine- Bought with the precious blood of Christ
4 No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me; From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I'll stand!
